Cerys Matthews
Monday July 28th - Evening (time tba) Town Hall - £15.00 SOLD OUT
Sponsored by AN Richards
What can we say about former Catatonia frontwoman Cerys Matthews other than that she’s an absolute star? She opened her 2006 UK tour with us and is back again two years later as part of her 2008 summer festival programme.
In the intervening months we have seen her in the seventh series of ITV’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, which aired in November 2007. She came fourth in the show and had more focus of attention afterwards than the winner.
She has also taken part in the BBC Wales series Big Welsh Challenge, in which she mentored comedian Rhod Gilbert.
Her move from America back to Wales coincided with the release of the mini-album Awyren (Aeroplane), Cerys’ first collection of recordings to be entirely in the Welsh language - and tonight she takes us on a musical journey through her career with compositions both new and familiar, in English and in Welsh.

With Cerys Matthew's' show on the 28th selling out so quickly, it was hoped that she would be able to stay another day and perform again on the 29th, but unfortunately this is no longer a possibility.
