Reginald D Hunter and Tudor Owen

Monday July 21st - 8.00pm Town Hall - £10.00

Sponsored by OaD Design

Reginald D HunterOne of the most accomplished performers in stand-up comedy and a headline act in clubs and theatres across the UK, Reginald D Hunter has been described as 'the coolest man in comedy' and 'the Samuel L Jackson of stand-up'. But there's a lot more to him than a mesmerising presence and composed, confident delivery. This American has that killer combination of great gags and intelligent material. In short, he's the complete comic.

Hunter's easy-paced, storytelling style is by no means laugh a minute - but his control of delivery ensures that he could beat most gag merchants hands down. And he's not afraid to talk his way through some contentious comedy terrain - the subject matter for his past shows, gender/race politics and racism, suitably proves the point. Woven between his sharply observed comedy touches are some dark, honest revelations: he can make you reconsider your own attitudes while examining his own misconceptions and assumptions.

After his Edinburgh Fringe debut, his two follow up shows gained huge critical and public attention - partly due to the controversial nature of the shows, but primarily because of his extraordinary skills as a comedian, a fact illustrated by his ability to fill the 320-seater "Udderbelly" venue every one of 27 consecutive nights during the 2007 Edinburgh festival.

'Masterful and important'
(Sunday Times)

'Top-grade stand up underpinned by passion and intelligence - a potent combination'
(Daily Telegraph)

Tudur OwenPC Leslie Wynne, dubbed “the caring face of North Wales Police”, is the on-screen persona of Tudur Owen from Felinheli, Gwynedd, who plays this remarkably vivacious character, who never dreamed he'd be stepping into the limelight and hosting his very own chat show on S4C.

But Leslie Wynne aside, Tudur is renowned for his creative writing skills for radio shows and tv sketches, while his own comedy stand-up won a BBC3 comedy sitcom competition last year. After headlining our Welsh stand-up comedy night yesterday, tonight he brings us a preview of his 2008 Edinburgh Fringe show, 'The Worst Zoo In Britain'.
