The Potboilers
Thursday July 26th - 7.45pm - £8.00
Following in the footsteps of last year’s Fringe toe-tapping Thursday session with the Boat Band, The Potboilers from South Wales bring their infectious brand of ‘Newgrass’ (Celtic Bluegrass) with guitar, electric fiddle, banjo, bass & drums.

Featured on BBC’s Celtic Connections, they are a hugely popular live band with a new album to boot. Expect to hear everything from Duellin’ Banjoes to The Devil Went Down to Georgia and a nod to Van Morrison en route.
Bluegrass was developed originally in Kentucky and uses many Celtic folk tunes and songs such as Meysydd Glas yr Amerig (The Green Fields of America) and Nyth y Gwow (Cuckoo’s Nest), which makes Newgrass a highly appropriate name for a band you can sit and listen to or take to the dancefloor and trip the light fanceltic.
